More flowers

Hi :) Today again shortly about roses. I've been making flowers for a few weeks now. Here are some more photos of my recent "production". All in pink:

Witam :). Dzisiaj krótko znowu o różach. Robię je już od kilku tygodni. Na razie ciągle różowe. Oto efekty:

I also promised to show you a different way of fixing stems while working on the flowers. I used to stick them in a slice of bread. It was good because bread could go to the oven together with all those flowers. But while making English roses I didn't like the fact that gravitation changed the shape I gave my petals. The flowers as if opened more than I wanted. This might be a good thing sometimes but not every time :) Hanging them heads down seemed the only possible way to go. I know that sugar craft artists hang their flowers on special perches quite often. I took a very small bread tin, hooked the ends of my stems and it does work nicely. I only need to be careful transporting it all to the oven. The flowers tend to swing and if they touch each other they might deform a little. This isn't the end of the world though. I believe that chance works best to get really natural effects in miniatures. When my kids saw the whole dangling arrangement for the first time they asked if I was baking bats :(. And this is what I call it now: bats in the oven.

In the photo one of many stages of making the roses :)
Na zdjęciu jeden z wielu etapów powstawania róż :)

And finally some news for my Polish readers. Some of you didn't like the fact that our Polish miniature discussion group was based on Facebook. You wanted forum... and here it is: http://www.miniaturowe.fora.pl/index.php. Feel invited to participate :).

No i wreszcie wiadomość dla polskich czytelników. Kiedy pisałam o grupie dyskusyjnej działającej na FB, pytaliście, dlaczego tam. Parę osób proponowało forum. Dzięki zaangażowaniu Ewy z naszej grupy jest więc i forum: http://www.miniaturowe.fora.pl/index.php . Zapraszamy serdecznie :)

P.S. Not the most elegant thing to do but I'm so excited that I need to tell you. I've been published  in the latest issue of Dollhouse Miniatures. The article turned out really nicely. I did a few tutorials for magazines before but this time I'm so glad. I love how the editors arranged all the photos and text.

    1. Ewa, też mnie kuszą takie mocno przekwitłe. Lekko nawet przywiędłe. Może jak się obrobię z tymi świeżymi :). A cierpliwość... kto to mówi? Twoje ostatnie biurko to prawdziwy test na cierpliwość. Dzięki i pozdrawiam :)

  7. Gosiu, przede wszystkim podziwiam Twoje zdjęcia róż w pięknym popołudniowym słońcu, cudny to widok.

  10. Hi Gosia! These roses appear to be a more delicate pink than you first batch and just a lovely! The method of hanging them upside down is a Great Tip, but when I look at the delicacy and translucent quality of each petal, it makes my jaw drop in Awe at just how Perfect they are. You most Certainly Deserve to be Published not just now but over and over again. Your work is Fabulous!
    Congratulations!

    1. Elizabeth, you're right. They are a lighter and softer pink. I also toned it down a little bit more. I never note down the ratios of my clay mixes so repeating exactly the same hue is impossible. Honestly, I never even try. I seem to be allergic to any kind of systematic and orderly work :( That's why everything I make must be OOAK - real foods including, which drives my husband mad :P Thank you very much for your lovely comment :) Hugs.

  20. Congratulations, Gosia. Your roses are beautiful. they remind me of roses we have in France. Their name is Pierre de Ronsard, a famous poet. They exactly have the same colour and texture. Congratulations for the article.
